Hello Eddice-
I noticed your queries re the Hartzog family. This is sorta odd to me as Isaac Hartzog/Hertzog sold land to William Preston in Lincoln Co., TN in the early 1840's. Then William Preston sold this land to 'our' ancestor, James Martin Leroy Littrell, Crickett's father; around 1845.
Might there be a family connection here?
Also, throw the following paragraph in for you. Somehow these families seem to be connected.
(Lincoln Co., TN 1820-Census; Daniel Preston's family: 2 m-10, 1 m-45+; 1 f-10, 1 f-10-16, 1 f-45+; A-1--(Making living by Agriculture)
Deed book-G, pg-?, land from Patent 3691, Daniel sold land to James Stevenson; Land records 1823, Lincoln Co., TN.)
Last known records of Daniel Preston is a deed selling land in 1823.
Let me hear from you.
gladys
