Dear Steve,
I am Martha Ann, so I am the present (for now). I descend from George Hartzog (son of George, son of Bernard the emigrant). This George emigrated to Mississippi early from SC. His grandson, Christopher Columbus Hartzog, who was raised in MS, came to Texas in about 1870. I need proof that the George who emigrated to MS is the son of the first George so I can tie in to the first George's wife, Catharine Snell Hartzog, who is a recognized DAR patriot. I have Virginia Hardy's book, but she does not have the proofs for the children of George 2nd. I also have "The History of Orangeburgh County, South Carolina" by A.S. Sally, but it has no proofs for this generation. As you know the DAR wants documentation for everything! I am a DAR member with several supplements, but no way so far to connect to Catherine Hartzog/Hertzog. Please let me know what information you would like and I will be happy to send. -- Martha
