Hi Clay -

Yes, I'd be interested in the Ashe County info. I have Delbert Wiles' family group sheets on the Hartsoes but not much on the Ashleys. In looking at the Wm A. Hartzog family I see that Candice was David Philip's sister. David's son Wiley was my husband's father.

We have copies of Cary and his wife's CSA pension applications. If you don't have those, I'd be happy to mail them. You can send me your regular mail to my e-mail if so. Also, if you would like copies of the Hartsoe family group sheets I'd be happy to send them as well.

Also have the list from "Pennsylvania German Pioneers" book that shows Philip Hertzog arriving on the Robert and Alice in Philadelphia 1738.

Since you are new at this you may want to look at for the pedigree sheets on Emma and Cary. (This is the LDS database) They had her name as "Emmer" though. Also there is the site Recently found Cary's name on their in the American Civil War Research Database, Soldiers.

We went to the Ashley cemetery in 1982 near Jefferson NC. The oldest tombstone I saw was Capt. Wm. Ashley. You will find queries about him on the Ashley genforum site.

Also you may want to look at the Ashley site where you found us. You probably already have.

Will look forward to hearing from you. Just e-mail me direct at
