Nobody knows for sure - the answer to that will take basic research - doubt you'll find anything other than hearsay or opinions without doing research into documents, court records, etc., in GA and AL. There were several Harv*ls in GA/Warren-Columbia-Richmond counties during and after the Rev War who moved there from NC/Cumberland. A John Harv*l, who is proved from documents in both NC/Cumberland and VA/Brunswick to be the son of John and Elizabeth HarWell (who lived in the Three Creeks area of what is now Greensville Co. VA), died testate in NC/Cumberland 1766-67 leaving widow Margaret and children Joseph, John, James, Edward,Elizabeth and Samuel. The widow married Ambrose Holliday and they moved to GA, evidently in the mid-to-late 1770s (not sure exactly when). The Joseph you're seeking is quite likely the son of one of those guys - but have never met anyone who has solid, documented info as to which one. It is also possible that Joseph born 1781 in GA is unrelated to any of them. That's why research, rather than hearsay, is your best bet.Regards, Michael
