This is a new family to me but I think there is a good chance that James is a brother of Wilson D. Harvell/Harvill/Harwell who was also in Roseville, Logan County, AR at the time of the 1880 census.

Wilson was a son of Riley Harvell who died in Cobb County, GA in 1855. In 1850 Wilson was the only son shown on the census but in 1840 there were 3 additional male children in the family.

Riley was b abt 1798 in NC. He MAY be a son of Mason Harvel and Nancy Harvell who married about 08/01/1797 in Wake County, NC. They have a son of the proper age on the 1800 census of Wake County. Mason died in 1820 in Jasper County, GA.

Riley drew from Keys District of Jasper County in the 1827 GA Land Lottery as did the Orphans of Mason Harvell and Weston Harvell, a known son of Mason.

There are some estate papers for Riley at the GA Archives which I will try to examine next week while I am in Atlanta.

BOB
