Jerry,

Don't know if this is helpful or not but I looked in my files under the name Maggart and found Eliza who married Alexander R. Harvell/Harvel in Smith Co., TN on 21 Jan 1861. This certainly shows a connection between those two families. This Alex R. was s/o Lewis and Alsey Dickens. Lewis is probably the s/o James Harvell and Mary Cast and he the s/o David Harvell and Mary Womack. It appears that this David was s/o Moses. Lots of work needs to be done on this family to prove this and I hope if it is your line that you will research and share! This is not my direct line but I collect all Harwell/Harvell/Harvel/etc data.

The late Michael Harwell Flanagan shared his census work with some of us and this is what he has for Smith Co., TN in 1850.
