James W. Harvell, Tishomingo County, Miss.

Has anyone on the board researched this family? In the 1840 census J.W. Harvell is listed as between 20 and 30, married, with two boys under 5.
The reason for my question is that I have been trying to locate my gg grandfather, John Harvel, who was born in Mississippi probably between 1830 and 1840. I have done searches through the Mississippi census for 1840 and J.W. Harvell is the only one individual of all the possible spellings of the name (Harvel,Harvell,Harvil,Harvill,Harville,Harwell) that seems to fit. My gg grandfather married Sarah ______ and she was living in Marion Co. Texas in the 1880 census with her daughter Alice (b.1860), Her son George (b.1869), and her son-in-law George Turner. My assumption is that John had died between 1868 and 1880.
Hope someone has information about J.W. Harvell so that I can either confirm or eliminate.
Thanks.
