Hello,

I can't help you for certain but I do have a bit of info. In the 1860 Collins Co., TX census there is a Simmons Harvell born 1827 in IL. His wife is Minerva Epps? Not sure about last name. She was born 1828 In KY. He is also in the 1860 Butler Co., MO census....perhaps still owned property in MO? I'm curious how he is related to Merrit/Merritt Harviel born 1775 and alive in the Butler Co., MO census of 1860? In my notes I've asked the question, "Is he related to Merrit or Simmons." IN another file, I have Simion Harwell born about 1770 s/o Simmons Harwell born 1747 Brunswick Co., VA. and he has a son Simmons and one named Merrit. Merrit is in the 1820 IL census. BTW, most Harwell's go back to Brunswick Co., VA in the 1600's.

1800 Census
10-16 = born 1784-90       Males        Females
16-26 = born 1774-84 Und       10        16        26 Und 10 16 26
26-45 = born 1755-74       10        16        26        45        45+ 10 16 26 45 45+        Slaves
SUMTER DISTRICT
       Pg. 929 Simmons Harville       3        .       1        .       1        1        .        .        1        .       No slaves
Born c.1747 VA/Brunswick s/o Thomas & Sarah (Simmons), and brother of Merrit b.c1754; Male 16-26 (b.1774-84) could be Merrit b.1775-80 who ended up in IL .. One of the males under 10 could be Peter S. Harvel b.1800 in SC who also ended up in IL

12/27/1825: Joseph Turpin md. Lucy Harvell in IL/Alex. (dau. of Merritt?)
12/31/1825: Martin Turpin md. Sarah Harvell (a dau. of Merritt?)
5/29/1830: Thomas Harvell md. Nancy Turpin

Maybe you can take this info and find your 'kin'! I would appreciate an update if you do. Meanwhile, I would also like to add you to my files if you would please share how you connect to Simmons. An outline sketch will be great and you can omit any living relation.

Ann
