My mother in law was the daughter of Mary Alice Harvell Sexton Her father was Silas Monroe Hosmer. Isom Harvell was her grandfather. I have not been able to trace his parentage. He was born in NC according to 1880 Tuscaloosa, AL census. His name was spelled joham (page 552-C, Beat 5, %19, R7W. family 226) and enlisted May 6, 1861 near Goldsboro, NC in Co. H, 2nd NC Infantry. He applied for pension in 1897, again in 1898, and 1915. but was not granted one because he could not produce two witnesses.
