I can't place him but there is some circumstantial evidence he may be an older son of Thomas Harvell and Barbary Honeycutt/Hunicutt who married in Wake County, NC in 1805 and then moved to Moore County, NC.
That Thomas was in some way closely related to William, Mason and Moses Harvell who lived near Swift and Terrible Creeks in southern Wake from 1770s to early 1800s. In turn I believe William was closely related to Isham Harvell of Surry and Wilkes County.
Isham and Matilda's son James married Morgan sisters whose family seems to have been from Moore County.
Pure speculation, but a lot of things fit.
