I am at a little bit of a disadvantage here because I loaned out my Lee files and have to work from memory.I think these Harveys were closely related to Edward B. Harvey.
Liberty Lee married first Mary Harvey a daughter of Glover Harvey 1840's then in Campbell which later became Appomattox Co.Among their children were John Glover Lee and Edward G. Lee.Both served in Co. H, 18th Va. Infantry.John survived the war but Edward died from wounds received at Fraziers Farm in 1862.This family lived near Chap which is south of the present day Town of Appomattox. Also in the area were James W. Lee and Henry W. Lee.Court records indicate that these three Lee men were brothers although they are roughly twenty years apart in age. Also, America Ann Lee, daughter of James W., married William Perry Harvey who I think was another a son of Glover Harvey. Many of these Harvey's are buried in a Harvey cemetery on Rt. 675 near the site of the old Wesley Chapel church.
The problem facing those of us working on this line of Lee's is that all court records of Appomattox and Buckingham counties were lost to fire. These three Lee men probably descend from Gresham Lee who lived east of Appomattox Courthouse in what, at the time, was Buckingham Co.One of Gresham Lee's ancestors was named Edward Gresham. It would be helpful if we could prove that the middle name of Edward G. Lee, son of Liberty, was Gresham.I have a strong feeling that it was because the name Glover was unavailable since it had been used by his brother John as a middle name.I recall seeing a family Bible for Liberty Lee and Mary Harvey many years ago but cannot recall if the children's middle names were given.
Do you have anything on Liberty Lee and Mary Harvey that may be useful.
