Hi, I dont want to get your hopes with this but maybe we can be of some help to each other. I notice that this post is nearly two years old and no other responses were made back to you.
I just got off the phone with my father who is getting on up in years. We have a book called The Harveys, it was published in 1964. It was compiled by several of our relatives who had knowledge of alot of the old timers. my gggg grandfather whose name was James Harvey came to the states approx. 1786. He had a brother whose name was Daniel, now we dont know his exact age. but we are certain of his name. Also their fathers name was Daniel and their grandfathers name was Daniel. The book mainly covers the family tree along James children and goes forward from that point on. Im just getting started on researching about his brothers, father and grandfather. I have been looking at alot of the posts here and so far yours is the first one to mention the name Daniel. The dates and time frame are a good start as far as I'm concerned.
James got his start in Va.and from there they all went in different directions. The states being Ky,Tn,Nc,Ill,and Tx. I know this doesnt really give you much to go on, but Im a hardheaded individual. James did have 4 brothers that we know of Daniel,Robert,Thomas and William. This William seems to be hard one to trace and catch up with. I have seen alot of people here that have inquired about William Harvey. Im shooting in the dark here, but I would bet on it. My ggggg grandfather Daniel or my gggggg grandfather Daniel had a brother whose name was William. I dont know what either on of them did, but for some strange reason they just seemed to have vanished into thin air. My gggg grandfather James 9th child was named William but we have records showing who he was married to. He moved from Va to Ky and from there to Cumberland County, Ky to what is now known as Burkeville,Ky. So the name William was passed down through the years, but its the earlier one named William that is the mystery to alot of us Harveys. Let me know if this helps out in any way.
