PEARL MURRAY, son of ALFRED and ELLA MURRAY, was born at Polk City, Iowa, January 9, l885, and died at his home near Leon, Iowa, July 28, l925, at the age of 40 years, 6 months and l9 days. During his youth, MR. MURRAY enlisted in the U.S. Navy for a term of years. About twenty years ago, he came from Polk City to Decatur County, Iowa, where he spent the remainder of his life.
MR. MURRAY was married to MARY ELIZABETH BAKER, March 6, l907. To this union two children were born, RUSSELL, age l7 and MURIEL, age l6.
MR. MURRAY is survived by his wife and children, his father, ALFRED, of Polk City, two sisters, BERTHA WILSON, of Polk City; MABEL HARVEY, Fort Des Moines; one brother, CHARLES, of Polk City and one sister, IVA, of Polk City, besides a host of other relatives and friends.
MR. MURRAY's death came after a long sickness. The grief stricken family will feel the loss of a kind father and husband. The large gathering of friends and neighbors testified to the esteem in which he was held.
Funeral services were conducted from the home by Henry Esch of Norwalk, Iowa, Thursday, July 30, at 2:30 p.m.
Burial was at the Leon Cemetery.
