Help! I have become lost in Harvey history! Here's what I know:

My grandmother was Matilda (Tillie) Harvey, (born in La Porte City, Iowa abt. 1892, died 1941, Black Hawk County, IA.). Her father was George W. Harvey of Illinois (b. 1861) and he resided for a time in Atkinson, Holt, Neb. He was a lawyer. Tillie's mother was Grace A. Harvey. Both of her parents were born in NY.

George Harvey's father was Solomon Harvey, born around 1832 in New York (Herkimer?) and residing in Big Creek Township, Iowa. He was a justice of the peace. He served in the Iowa volunteers in the Civil War as a wagoner. Solomon Harvey was married to Matilda Harvey. George's brothers were John, Oscar, and Earl.

My father told me he believed one of his mother's Harvey relatives was an Indian agent.

If this fits in your line, please let me know. Thanks!
