The November 2007 issue of ANTIQUES magazine on page 159 displays a fine portrait of Maria Eliza Hasbrouck, 1798-1857 (later Mrs. Christopher Reeves),probably of New Paltz, NY, painted c. 1824 by the great NY folk art painter Ammi Phillips.
This portrait should be made known to the Hasbrouck and Reeves families. I am scanning it in case any of the descendants might like a copy, either by email or by postal mail. Someone in the family ought to have it--it is too good to be missed by them. It may not have extensive genealogy value, but it certainly does have a whole lot of family and artistic value.

If it were a portrait of a 19th century Pease family member, I'd certainly hope someone would do the same for me.
