Steve, I am not sure that there is a connection here, but my GG-Grandfather was James Hasbrouck Nicholson, son of Nicholas Nicholson and Mary Washburn, in a journal left by my Great grandfather James, he states that he was born on what was known as the "Hasbrouck Farm" located in Middletown, Delaware County, New York on August 8, 1808. I am wondering if possibly Nicholas' mother could have been a Hasbrouck. In 1828, Nicholas and Mary Nicholson moved from this farm to Allegheny County, leaving James and a cousin to rent and cultivate the farm and they did so for 5 years. He also states that there was a sawmill on this farm that was used during the fall and spring. Any help in trying to make a connection would be greatly appreciated.
