Henry Cornelius Hasbrouck graduated from West Point in 1856 and was a lieutenant in the 4th Artillery in the Civil War. He was Commandant of Cadets at West Point 1882-8 and was a brigadier general commanding the 2nd Division of the Second Army Corps in Cuba during the Spanish American War. He also served in the Indian wars and in later years was a member of the board that prepared the infantry, cavalry and artillery drill regulations adopted by the War Dept. He died in 1910 at age 71.
