I am looking for information on Josaphat Hasbrouck. My great-great grandfather was his youngest son - Jacob W. Hasbrouck. Josaphat & Ida apparently left New Paltz prior to Jacob's birth in 1845 because the Hasbrouck Family Association had no record of Jacob until hearing from me. Ida shows up in a 1850 Illinois census without her husband Josaphat but with her son Jacob. Am wondering if anyone knows whatever became of Josaphat and why they left New Paltz. Ida later remarried a man by the name of Benjamin Hilman and died in Iowa. Would love to hear from anyone with information about Ida and Josaphat.
