I am not an authority or an expert on Native American culture, but your statement concerning the "matrilineal" naming patterns of Indians not being a custom intrigues me to ask from what source do you draw this conclusion?
Due to your implied expertise I am also obligated to ask (1) Did Indians of the 1700's have surnames? Was this an Indian custom or a white mans custom?(2) Are you absolutely, positively sure that Sarah Hathcock did not marry at some time a man by the name of Hathcock. If the answer is yes, then would you share this information with the forum?
The forum is not allowing me to quote your statements regarding the questionable behavior of Sarah and Simeon. But I would like to know what your sources are regarding the "phenomenon".If it is Dr. Korn's diary then I personally would not consider it to be more than Dr. Korn's opinion. And opinions are what you are attacking.
What is your connection to the Hathcock family line?
Why do you present your evidence so harshly
You owe Ms Nobles an apology for your character assassination of her and her research abilities.Your statements were slanderous and uncalled for.
Ms. Simms you should have discussed your po8ints of contention with the individuals directly involved and asked those people for their source material BEFORE you attacked them publicly. You did not allow those individuals an opportunity to defend their infomation or sources.
You state you are a descendant of Queen Elizabeth I of England. Is Queen Elizabeth the one who had her cousin Mary Stuart beheaded because poor Mary Queen of Scotts was a threat to Elizabeth's beliefs.Elizabeth had her denounced as a "lady of the night", accused her of murder, kept her prisoner in an English castle for her "protection".Yessss...I see the family resemblance.
I do not know how you posted such an inflamatory letter to this forum. It would not allow me to quote you.So I have written my reply in portions. It is not as I had originally written the messages but the points are almost the same.I still have plenty of questions for you that will probally go unanswered.
Thank you for correcting all of the FALSE information it was very interesting, but like you pointed out...everyone should check their sources before they accept what you have said as the truth.
