Charlie, we have conversed via email before on this same subject.Paul Robert that left the message, is my brother. My dad Elmer E. Hatmaker, Sr. was born on land that is now under Norris Lake. His father's name was Walter Goldman Hatmaker dob 3-24-1912 died 5-7-1962 (married Bertha Stooksbury Hatmaker), and Walter's father was Tom Hatmaker dob 10-2-1876 died 1-29-1945 (married Alice Sharp Hatmaker--it was her brother Jacob, that was killed in the Coal Creek Train Depot Shoot Out in 1904).My grandparents Walter and Bertha are the last of the family interviews, done by the University of Tennessee, in the Shadows II book, pages 614 to 618.Page 618 lists Tom as Walter's father, but goes on to say that there were several Tom's at that time.We have not been able to go farther back than Tom, due also to that fact.We think Tom's father was named Cal, and either Cal or Tom had a brother Ed.That is as far as we have so far. Any help would be appreciated.Email me [email protected]!
