This is to confirm my niece Emma's information re the origin of our Hatty surname. It is and anglocisation of the name ATTA belonging to my Grandfather Hadji Atta. He was of Afghanistani descent and came from the Peshawar District, North West Provinces, of Pakistan. He came Australia circa 1900 to work with the camel handlers who traversed the desert areas of the country carrying supplies to distant stations/properties.
