I am a Daniel, who should have been a Hatty, barring a mix-up at the border. We are related to the Andary, LaHood, Elias, Thomas, Joseph, Solomon, Naseef, and many other Lebanese families that grew up in Detroit from the late 1910's-early 1920's on.
Was your family a member of the Kniewer club, or the old ASLA (American Syrian Lebanese Association) that used to have a hall on Chalmers or Hayes in Detroit? (They had an annual Christmas party, and my Dad, James Daniel, used to play Santa in the late 50's--until I started recognizing him as a small child.) We used to get a hot dog, bag of Better Made potato chips, a Home Juice box of orange juice (a precursor to modern juice boxes, and a cupcake for dinner, then all the kids would sit down and sing "Jingle Bells" to bring in Santa! We all got a gift based on our age and gender.
I have lost of Hatty cousins, like Mae Hatty and Margaret Hatty Dobbs, and even have a cousin named Denise Hatty, who I only met a few times.
I'm guessing we're related.
