Hi Bob!
Fascinating - these Christian names were of course common - but it is traditional to bestow the names of forbears on offspring.
I have a little work to do for Jim Hawkey (see related posts) in our Cornwall Family History library in Truro. I am totally new to family history research, so this is the starting point. My Father, Thomas Stanley H was born in 1893 near Truro. I am told that his Father had brothers who went to America, mining.
I cannot think how I would find out who went or when, and to where, but I will find their names and let you know.Looking out for a Daniel, in the family tree.
Unfortunately, my Father was 61 years old when I was born, and not a great talker. The generation gap did not help. My Mother is still alive, age 85 years, the two families were close for generations and she knows a little about my Hawkeys, but has a failing memory.
Be back soon.
Philip.
