It appears Andrew Neel Hawthorn is probably a son of James and Mary Neel Hawthorn, since he carries his mother's maiden name and owns land in close proximity to his parents in 1801. James is listed in Livingston County records as early as 1795. In the year 1801, he, like his father James, owns 400 acres in Livingston County, KY. So the story goes, James signed a bond, putting his farm up for collateral, for a sheriff sometime around 1800. The sheriff defaulted on the loan and James lost the farm sometime before his death in 1809.
