Hi Miles. I have your grandfather Miles Carter Hawthornthwaite in my records, but know nothing of his descendants. I have my version of his ancestors back to Jamesb1751 who married Jane LAMBERT in 1784 at Garstang. I would be interested in sharing information.
I have a great deal of info on the H Clan. The name was often rendered Hathornthwaite in the past, but this then divided into Haythornthwaite and Hawthornthwaite. The origin is identical. Have you visited Hawthornthwaite Farm, where the name comes from?

I look forward to hearing from you.
