This Mary Hawthorn was most likely the daughter of John Hawthorn who dated his will 7 Sep 1776, Craven County, GA. naming his beloved wife Elizabeth, grandson John Hawthorn, daus Margaret Johnson, Mary Forbes & Elizabeth Hawthorn, sons Adam, Joseph, Benjamin, James, John & Robert.

John, the testator, must be the same John Hawthorn who came on the Ship Chichester sailing out of Belfast to South Carolina. The Ship's roster was reported on Tuesday, 5 Jan 1768 to include:
John Hawthorn 53yrs
Elizabeth Hawthorn 44yrs
Adam Hawthorn 22yrs
James Hawthorn 20yrs
John Hawthorn 17yrs
Mary Hawthorn 16yrs
Robert Hawthorn 14yrs
Joseph Hawthorn 12yrs
Benjamin Hawthorn 7yrs
Elizabeth Hawthorn 3yrs
