Hi Barbara, I have the following Hayek family from 1880 Census in NYC:
Francis, 27, Born NY, Parents born Austria
Catherine, 22, Born NY, Parents born Germany
Francis, 4, Born NY, Parents born Germany (error?)
Andrew, 2, Born NY, Same
Lewis, 6m, Born NY, Same
The 1900 Census finds them in Ridgefield, Bergen, NJ.
Lewis is not named, and another son, Herbert is 8.
the father is a cabinet maker, Francis (now Frank) is an upholsterer and Andrew an architect. Parents buried NJ
I'm interested in Frank and his wife Mary (nee Rippel).
They had a child born with an extra finger and left NJ for CT to avoid the publilcity. Back in NJ in 1930 Census
