Hi Ann,
I am just beginning my search.I live in Oregon. My dad married my mother (his brother married her sister) in Fla During WWII and afterwards all moved to Oregon.I've been able to trace my grandmother's(Eunice Georgianna Hagood) mother's side, but not her dad's.
All I know is that her dad (my ggrandfather) was named William I Hagood; that he married Sallie Dane Sauls in Walterboro, S.C. circa 1886 or 1887.She was born in 1868, so my guess is that he is near (a bit older) that age. They then lived in Livingston, S.C. for awhile, because that's where my grandmother was born (1902).Some time after that they all moved to Wilmington, N.C.He died before or near my mother's birth (1922), and she has no memory or records of him! Nor does my aunt who is now deceased.
Any help, direction, etc. you could give me would be so appreciated.
Thank you, Suzanne
p.s.I have a day in Charleston in late Sept. and hlope to make a sweep of Walterboro to Livingston to Orangeburg.
Any suggestion on good (orcritical) places to investigate ??
