HAYMES (African-Americans) in Virginia
I am looking for information on Manerva HAYMES and her parents, Freeman and Sallie HAYMES, who lived in Halifax County, Va., or thereabouts in the 1800s. Manerva was born about 1848 and married Daniel FARMER in 1866 in Halifax County, Va. All of these folks were African-American and I believe they were my ancestors. I know little about them other than what I've just written here. I believe that Daniel and Manerva were the parents of my great-grandfather, Luther FARMER. If you know more, please contact me at [email protected]. Please e-mail me directly rather than posting here because I do not check these boards that often but check e-mail sent to me directly at [email protected] on a daily basis. Thanks.
