Mac Hayslett

I am trying to find out the history of my G Grandfather, Mac Stewart Hayslett. He arrived in Ohio in the late 1880's and was a young adult at that time. According to family members, he had a southern accent and said his name was Mac Stewart Hayslett. Family states that he would never tell where he came from or why he left. He died in the 1930's and as the story goes, family begged him to tell where he came from and any relatives that he may have so they could be notified. He refused. Does anyone have family history out there of anyone with a relative of that name or one that disappeared around that time? All family members of mine that had any info have since died.
