Unfortunately that hasn`t answered my conundrum. Do you know whether any of the Haysoms were ever in the military? My Thomas and his brother were in the 6th Dragoon Guards. It just could be that the regiment was at one time stationed in Southampton and got to know William at the Kingsland Tavern and being a cavalry unit he offered Thomas a job when he was demobbed. Whatever happened Thomas changed his mind it would appear and went to AU first.
