Thanks for all that information, some of it I already had but the gen on the Purbeck Marbelers was great!

Just to clarify things, my great-great grandfather was a George Oxford. He married Elizabeth Damon in London in 1865. Elizabeths father was John Damon. His father was Charles Damon who married Mary Gover in 1799. Their daughter Elizabeth Damon married Isaac Haysom in 1829.
Their son John married Martha White(?)in Blandford, I believe in March 1872, and they had two daughters, as you say, Elizabeth and Annie. 1881 census puts the family in Swanage but have not traced any marriages or children for them. I you get any details on them please could you let me know.
