Dear Jane

As you know, I'm reliant on the sterling scholarship of John HAYSOM of Bristol, who kindly shared his excellent research with me. Did you get in touch with him? If so you'll have all this already ...

Now, your posting shows more children, and more complete names, although perhaps slightly different dates. I'm sure this could be cleared up easily! This is really very interesting, and shows another whole HAYSOM line.
The data John gave to me only showed the following descent from Samuel Rawlins HAYSOM (sometimes Samuel-Rawlins HAYSOM?)

------------------------------------------------------
Samuel Rawlins HAYSOM born 1807, baptised 18 May 1807, Swanage Parish Church married firstly Susanna TOWNSEND; remarried somebody CRUMB who was known as "Ma CRUMB".
Children by Susanna TOWNSEND:
1. Samuel HAYSOM
2. James HAYSOM born 10 May 1838 in London. Had issue (see below)

The said James HAYSOM born 10 May 1838, London. Occupation: compositor. Married 23 July 1864, in Holborn, London, to Mary BATTERBEE, and had four sons:

i       Harry HAYSOM.
ii       Edgar HAYSOM.
iii       James HAYSOM born London.
iv       Charles Bridges HAYSOM born 2 Sep 1874 London; married 6 Sep 1903, in Islington, Alice Maria WILLIAMS (born 1879, died 22 Jun 1962[?], Pett's Wood, Orpington, Kent). Charles died 13 Jan 1953, Highbury, Islington.

Charles Bridges HAYSOM and Alice Maria had one son:
Charles Frank HAYSOM b. 2 Aug 1905. He had issue (son still living, I believe); Charles Frank HAYSOM apparently died 1970.
---------------------------------------------------------

Your HAYSOM descent would be very interesting to know too, especially all those ones in different parts of the country.

I think you said elsewhere on this forum you come from a Samuel Henry Haysom b. Hampshire 1841/2.
Is this the *eldest* Samuel shown in John's data above? And does this mean his sibling "James HAYSOM born 10 May 1838" has got his dates wrong or were they moving back and forth between Hampshire and London? (You say the order was James then Samuel, don't you?)

Cheers, Graham
