Hi John

My Grandfather Edward (had a son Kenneth my father, born Hitchin 1920) and his two brothers Charles(had one daughter Daphne born Guernsey) and Robert (had one son Nigel) Haysom were born in Guernsey. Rumour has it that their ancestors were based in Swanage and came to Guernsey to ship granite back to England to be used in the contruction of the Embankment in London. Do you know of any Haysom links between Guernsey and Swanage based around the export and import of granite?

I would be really interested to hear of any links between the two places. There seem to be two seperate families of Haysoms in Guernsey and although no one seems to know the link between the two there is definately a physical family resemblance, I am interested to find out how long we have been in Guernsey and what the link is.

It would be great if you could help.

Thanks

Anne
