Ian,
I too was born in Hull, in 1951, and my father, James Sydney Haysom, was born in February 1909. His father was James Edward Haysom, born I believe in Goole, but I don't know the date. My father was the second or third child, so I guess that could put my grandfather's birth at about 1885 or so.

Living in Australia means I can't get to look at records at my leisure....What I've manageed to reach on line hasn't shed much light. All my uncles/aunts are deceased, and I have never had close contact with cousins. (My family moved to Oz in 1959).

I can recall my parents claiming that all the Haysoms in Hull were related, so maybe we are. I'd like to know a little more about your family tree, what part of Hull etc. you were born in.

Regards,
Chris Haysom
