Hi Gary,
in researching my family tree, i have made a note of a James Hayter, of Tollard Royal from the 1841 census.details as follows:
James Hayterage 60-64agricultural labourerborn c1781
Jean Hayterage 70-74wifeborn c1771
Patienceage 20-24daughter?
Edwardage 23son?
Georgeage 21son?
Harrietage 8grandaughter??
could these be your relations? the 1841 census is very hard to read and my assumption of jean may be wrong - it could be Jane. i have lots of other information about possible brothers and sisters of James, possibly his mother as well. The only Jeremiah i have come across so far was born around 1850, so that doesn't fit. but your jeremiah could be an older child of this family, as he would've left for Australia by the time the 1841 census was done.my ggg grandfather may be James' brother, so we could be related!!!if you would like to discuss this further please email me at [email protected].
