Yes I did. I have kept the pages as Cathey is in my family. Here is some correspondance that I received. Maybe you will know some of the names.
The Indian part: According to whoever you ask in this family our first ancestor who claimed this name was an indian girl who was supposed to be Cherokee. She had a son by a trapper while in Kentucky with her tribe.Subsequently she returned to the North or South Caroloinaarea.Asyou may know there was a removal of the Cherokee from that area in the 1800's.At this time my ancestor, Joseph David Hazlewood was among those removed. He settled in Tennessee after meeting and marrying a woman who lived there. This is only on of the stories.
At any rate, Joseph and his wife had three sons and one daughter.James T. Hazlewood, Charles, Wm. Thomas, and Mary Jane. There may have been other children who did not survive.
About your Eudora Cathey she says:Wm. Thomas is my ancestor. He married first Miss Eudora Cathey and had one son, Walter,His second marriage was to Miss Georgia Hester McKeel. They had Charlie Sylvester, Marion Edgar, Early Chester, Millie, Lillie and Audra.Of these my grandfather was Early Chester. He was born in Arkansas where the family moved sometime after the civil war.He married my grandmother Viola Mayfield. They had Ernest, my father, then Ralph, W.T. David, Mildred, Edna, and Mary Evelyn.
