Here is some of my documentation:
In the 1880 Columbia County Florida census for Precinct No. 6 Dwelling # 132 William Hardy age 35 (b 19 Mar 1843) is living with wife Susan age 30 (b 1850) with William's boys by Jane Elizabeth Jennings in the household: John H. [Hillery], age 12; Bunion, age 6; Coleman, age 2 (b 23 Dec 1877 Edgefield, SC according to his obituary); and no name boy, age 1 who is known to be Guy Everett Hardy.
Jane Elizabeth Jennings (b 7 Feb 1849 Edgefield District, SC, d 16 Jan 1891 Cherokee County, TX and buried in the Sardis Baptist Church Cemetery) was the first wife of William Arthur Hardy. There is no known divorce, yet he definitely is in Columbia County, FL in 1880 with, according to the census, his wife Susan. William Arthur's son Guy's family Bible record shows Guy's birth date as 10 May 1880 and death on 15 Aug 1945. That would be the right date to be baby no name in Columbia County, FL in 1880.
I don't have a definitive birth date for Susan Healan, but I do show her death date as 15 Jul 1887. Since Jane Elizabeth Jennings Hardy did not die until 1891, was William Arthur "messin" around? I show he and Susan with two girls: Annie Dove and Kate. Annie Dove married George Henry Brown and had four children: James Woodward, Healan, Louise, and Anne Hardy.
William Arthur Hardy was, by far, the most colorful relative in my tree. He was my grandfather Jacob Wilson Hardy's brother, but I am in close contact with many of the family in Texas.
So far we have had three DNA's done for the Hardy line: My brother George Long Hardy, David Hardy who descends from Guy Everett Hardy and his son Frank Everett Hardy and Ray Hardy who descends from William Arthur's great grandfather's (Richard Hardy) brother John. Without DNA, we would not be able to prove that Guy was William Arthur's son, but all the results are not back to me yet.
Where is the death date of 3 Jul 1933 documented for William Arthur Hardy? Is it a primary document?
He did move back to Texas and we have substantial family records and pictures with all the children.
