Thanks, Bob. Your information is really interesting. If you ever go to Barbadoes, I understand family births, etc. are entered in the annals of St. Michael's Church. My great-grandfather (William Walter) was born in 1855 in Barbadoes, so perhaps he and your relative were brothers. I wonder whether Nelson and Sarah were my great great grands. I knew Kevin was a "New England" Healis because he mentioned Ulysses Healis. My research on the Internet turned up a bunch of death records for the Rhode Island group and Ulysses was one of them. My mother's youngest uncle moved to California, so we have a branch of the Philadelphia Healises out there, too. Thanks again -- it's really good to get some information after digging for so long.
