Thanks for replying to my message. My great-grandfather, William Walter Healis, was born in Barbadoes in 1855. He married Eleanor Bearcroft (or Bradford), born 1859, on January 13, 1877 at St. Michael's. They had five children, including my grandfather, Conrad Eustace, by the time they emigrated in 1890 (and five more in the U.S.) Unfortunately, I don't know anything about my ggrandfather's or ggrandmother's brothers and sisters, parents or ancestors in Barbadoes. I have been told there were seven generations of Healis doctors in Barbadoes, which I assume to mean prior to and including my ggrandfather's generation. I would guess that the first Healis(es)emigrated to Barbadoes from the British Isles in the 1600's. I know there is some documentation about a Patrick Healis who came from Ireland about that time, so that may be a good place to start. Keep me posted on anything you learn.
