hello all you healis,s. i just got into looking up the family tree and i will try to bring u up on info i have about the healis family that came from barbados to phila. william healis & eleanor bearcroft where my great grand parents. they moved from barbados to philly back in the early 1900. william owned a rubber stamp business in society hill of philly around 2nd & pine. 5 of the children were born in barbados and 5 were born in philly. i was brought up with emily, john, eleanor,& lillian & madeline was my grandmother. my cousin who is the son of john has the family bible brought from barbados. we both live in california who originally came from back east. we also are looking to find out our roots in barbados. i am planning on going to barbados in december. i never did this before and this is getting very interesting almost like a mystery trying to be solved. what i cant understand is why my great grandparents moved from such a beautiful island of barbados to philadelphia. they must have been kicked off. john mcnamee
