Good Morning Alma, Yes I have a picture of Daisy and her husband, I'd be glad to share, and yes I'd like to get a copy of the picture of Edward Thomas Healis. Do I know Edwards mothers name? No, in fact, I need to be more careful about trusting my memory when I write about these things. My information about Nelson Healis having a mistress is not from the genealogist I hired, but from a message posted here from Angela Healis dated Oct. 26,2000 in response to Robert Gordon. Where did my ancestors settle? In Massachusetts and New Hampshire. My gr gr grandmother (Edwards sister) Charlotte married Benjamin Baker in 1878 in St Lucy. They had 4 children that I know of. Lillian was born in 1880 and came to this country in 1900 and in 1904 married Charles Lurvey. They had 4 children that I know of and made their home in Manchester NH. My gr grandmother Daisy Elizabeth was born 1/24/1888 in St Lucy. She came to this country in 1903, Stayed with her relatives (Healis/Gilkes)in Cottage City, Marthas Vinyard, then went to live with her sister Lillian in Manchester. In 1906 she married Harry McDonald and they lived in Lowell Mass their whole lives. Ruth Virginia was born 1881 in St Lucy and George Richard was born 1892. They came to the US in august of 1906, but George was declared "mental" on his immigration record and they were both sent back. In November 1906 Ruth returned and settled in Manchester NH. I've never been able to find out what became of George when he returned to Barbados, but as all the Bakers of his immediate family were in the US (both is parents died before the turn of the century) I figure he may have stayed with his Healis relatives. When my father was a boy he remembers going to visit relatives in Marthas Vinyard every summer. Hope your enjoying the holiday, Everett Notify Administrator about this message?
