Hello, to any and all that are reading this..My name is Amy Marie Healis (Orr is married name). I am the great great grandaughter of WWH (1855). My grandfather was also a william walter, as well as an uncle, and cousin. I think it was a Mrs/Ms Doersch that was emailing my cousin for a while.
And yes, my grandmother was by Marriage(donovan), so she could be right in the assumption of the grapvine effect of family history. I have heard the story of the family coming over from England as well as a possible? name change at Ellis Island when the family originally came over. Take it for what its worth(but ya never know) the story goes the original name was Ellis? From what I was told, there were too many Ellises coming in and they added an H and an A and dropped an L (or maybe not from the earlier posts I saw. My father has a tape that I am trying to get a copy of that was read by my Greatgrandfather that tells our side of the history from his point of view. I just started looking into this so any help I could get would be greatly appreciated.
