I will follow up with the relatives back east. There is some connection to England.
Evidently. Along with Herbert Benjamin, there was a George Healis, Pawtucket RI) and an Edward Healis(Oak Bluffs,MA). I beleive that their mother's maiden name was Mathews. Somehow wthey were also related to a woman named Love Prince. They were part Chippoquidick(spelling) Indian. They were from Marthas Vinyard MA., and evidently owned a good deal of the island at some point in history. They were part of the Wamponag(spelling)indian tribe based in south eastern Mass. It is interesting that they were the ones who helped out the Pilgirms in Plymonth, which is not far away.

There is a death record fo Herbert Healis from 1955 in Tisbury, MA. There is a record of Edward Healis as a resident of Oak Bluffs.
Also, someone is buried in the Indian Cemetary on Chippoqidick Island, but I can not recall who it is.
One of my cousins Aletha Dickerson in RI knows the history the best.
