NOTE in another area of this book under William son of Daniel and Margaret (Spencer) GOODWIN, sayd that he married Deliverance, daughter of John and Martha TAYLOR. William died in Kittery in 1714. His widow was living April 4, 1763 at age 90. (so Deliverance was born c1673...which may be off by a few years unless she was married at age 14??)
Their daughter Hannah GOODWIN b. Aug. 29, 1701 married Etherington HEARL on Feb. 18, 1723.
Some of their children married to Surnames of FROST, GOODWIN, STONE, WILLOUGHBY, DURGIN, LIBBY, NASON, and THOMPSON.
William's brother Moses GOODWIN, married Sept. 7, 1694 to Abigail TAYLOR sister to Deliverance above. Moses died in Berwick, ME in 1726 and Abigail was still living as of Oct. 29, 1730.
Some of their children married surnames of GRAY, BOND, WARREN, BENNETT, EMERY, THOMPSON, BEAL, GRANT.
James GOODWIN, also a brother of William and Moses above, married Sarah THOMPSON, on Dec. 11, 1686 daughter of Miles and Ann Thompson. He was killed by Indians July 31, 1697 and his widow married 2nd around 1703 to William HEARL, Sr.
All children listed with the exception of a daughter named Olive who m. Timothy DAVIS of Portsmouth Dec. 7, 1727, appear to be the children of Sarah 1st husband as they were all born in the late 1600's.
It appears these families had strong ties in York Co. and hopefully this will help others to search for their own family.
