My grandmother's name was Ireat Winona Underwood, but she was known as "Pat". She was born 1903 in Cooper, Iowa and grew up in Jamaca, Iowa. I believe her mother's maiden name was Mae Heater, although Mae could easily be a nickname for Margaret or something else. She was probably born in the 1870's or 1880's, in Iowa or possibly Ohio (there seems to be some connections with families that came to Iowa from Ohio in the mid-1800s). Ireat Winona married George Emmett Lamp in the 1920's. There's a lot of information about the Lamps, but I don't know enough to start looking for Underwoods and Heaters. If anyone knows of an Underwood or Heater family in Iowa around the turn of the century, I'd sure like to hear from you. Thank you.
