Hello Jane,
What a surprise to see your web page and request for info about your grandmother. My Great grandfather was Oliver Heater, grandfather was his youngest son, Charles Theodore Heater. My grandfather died in 1969 in St.Joseph, MO. What is your grandmother's name? I grew up in the household with my grandparents so heard stories when growing up. My dear Uncle Jim Heater(died in 1995 at age 85) told me about grandpa Oliver. Says he was blind in one eye as a young adult and then later in life lost the sight in the other one. Not a heavy man, but kind I was told This is so exciting....I can give you more info. Just email me and I'd be happy to help. I do have a couple of pictures of him in his later years. U.Jim told me he died in the home of one of his sons in Elwood, KS but I have seen his grave in Bedford, IA which he shares with his first wife Clarissa Jane Chaney Heater who died about 1907. Please write me!!! This is great...your grandmother is a mystery to me.
