I am working on a massive ROTHROCK family tree. Dr. Isaac ROTHROCK was born 22 Jun 1798 at Mifflin Co., PA and died 08 Jun 1872 at Beaver Springs, Snyder County, Pennsylvania. He married Susanna SWENK (1814-1852) and had six children. They are buried at the Beaver Springs Cemetery, at Beaver Springs, Snyder County, Pennsylvania. The second of their six children was:

Mary Ann ROTHROCK who was born 28 Dec 1832 in Pennsylvania and died 07 Nov 1913 at Wycombe, Bucks County, Pennsylvania. She married 1) Prof. David HECKENDORN (born 08 Jun 1824 in Pennsylvania and died 26 Apr 1863 in Pennsyvlania) on 27 Jul 1853 at Union County, Pennsylvania. She later married Philip DERR. I don't know where any of the three are buried. Prof. David HECKENDORN was the first County Superintendent of Schools of Snyder County, Pennsylvania. The descendants of this family are said to be included in the book "COUNTING KINDRED" by Elmer Ellsworth DEPPEN (1940). The L.D.S. Family History Center has it on Microfilm (Roll 1012788, Item 7), but it can't be loaned out to other Family History Centers. Philip DERR was said to live at Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. In 1880 MARY was said to be living at Louisville, Kentucky, though I can't find her on the census or on the 1870, 1900 or 1910 census.

David HECKENDORN was the son of Adam HECKENDORN (1789-1865) who married Susannah FENICAL (1793-1871) in c1814. They both were born in Berks County, Pennsylvania and died at Perry County, Pennsylvania.

Mary Ann ROTHROCK HECKENDORN DERR was the mother of six girls. The first five were HECKENDORNs, was the sixth a HECKENDORN or DERR? They were said to live at Union County, Pennsylvania. The first five children were:

1) Alice H. HECKENDORN (1855-1885), never married?

2) Nora F. HECKENDORN (1856-1885) married George F. RAWHN in 1883

3) Mary F. HECKENDORN (1858-???) married J.B. READ in c1888

4) H. Ida HECKENDORN (1861-???) married John D. SMITH in 1886.

5) Harriett HECKENDORN (1864-???) married 1) Joseph RAUDENBUSH in 1885 (he died c1896) and then Thomas J. TURNER

6) nothing known of the sixth child

Does anyone have any of the HECKENDORN books that might have information on this family?
