Hello , Believe David E. Hedgpeth is the father to Amanda and may be very well be Manerva (Hedgpeth/ Hedgepeth) Johnson along with her parents and brothers on the 1850 & 1860 BentonCo. Mo. Census. They are calling her Amanda J.. 10 years old on the 1850 Census & 20 years old on the 1860 census. Of course she was Married to James F. Johnson on the 1860 Christian Co. Census and that census says she is 18. But Manerva's tombstone says Born Feb. 11, 1840, died Jan. 25, 1903 and is buried in the Shipman cemetery Christian Co. Mo. so that would make her 20 years old. The Transcribed 1850 Benton Co. Census for the Hedgpeth's is; Surname Given Name Age State Born Hedgpeth Amanda J. 10 Tennessee Hedgpeth David E. 36 Tennessee Hedgpeth Isaac N. 8 Missouri Hedgpeth John L. M. 12 Tennessee Hedgpeth Miranda A. 38 Tennessee The Transcribed 1860 Benton Co. Census for the Hedgepeth's is; Hedgepeth Amanda 20 Tennessee Hedgepeth David E. 44 Mo. Hedgepeth Isaac 18 Tenn. Hedgepeth John 21 Tenn. Hedgepeth Maranda 47 Tenn. One of our cousins Pauline Trigg here in Arkansas. Had this info on our Great Grandmother Manerva Hedgpeth. It was wrote in a small note book that was her mothers. Dads Mother - Nerva Hedgspeth Borned in north carolina Dads father James (Jim) Johnson Born in Tennessee Dads Grandma Ann Hedgspeth (hedgpeth) Irvin Hedgspeth (hedgpeth) mothers side We show James and Manerva on different census's, with their birth states reversed, back and forth from Tenn. to N.C. Do you have any other Info on Amanda J. Hedgpeth? Isaac N. Hedgpeth gained a rank for such a young age in the Confederate Army Col. 6th Regiment, if he is the one in the same it looks like he died and is buried in Alabama. I entend to go to the Libary and order Microfilm to look at his and what I think may be some of my Johnson's that fought and enlisted in the same Regiment and Area. Thought might glen some more documentation. Thanks, James C. Johnson Notify Administrator about this message?
