According to conversations with my grandparents when they were alive (until the early 70's), the Hedgpeths were "Heinz 57"...Welsh, Irish, English and Scott, among other...
On the "fun" side of things, there is a link to General Lee, and a link to the first train robbers to use dynamite...but I haven't gotten to these yet. I have been working on this off and on (mostly off) since my sone was born 35 yrs ago. Unfortunately, I've lost most of my early handwritten notes and am starting over, so I deeply appreciate all info I am picking up on here. I'm in the Henry/Lemuel/James/Joel/Lewis/Robert line. Robert was my g.grandfather.
